Café Centraal
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN -- Café Centraal involves the renovation of vacant street level medical office space into a 260 seat restaurant, bar, and outdoor dining space. The existing building provided numerous technical and code challenges and was reviewed under Chapter 13 of the International Existing Building Code.
New electrical and mechanical service was provided to the space to meet all building codes and client needs. New large operable storefront windows replaced the small existing windows, allowing the building to engage the street and bringing natural light deep into the space. The exterior storefront design required approvals and reviews from the Department of City Development and was awarded a façade grant for the historically sensitive storefront improvements.
